The Staywell Infra-Red Electronic Pet Door is activated by an special infra-red transmitter worn by your pet. The small infra-red collar key that signals the door to open for your pet and only your pet. You won’t have to worry about strays or other unwanted animals using your pet’s doorway. It features a 4-way locking system to allow you to specify 'In Only', 'Out Only', 'Locked', or 'Unrestricted' operation. Double-flapped for energy efficiency, this Infra-Red dog door uses collar-ID technology that interacts with only the included dog collar key. Universal fitting for windows, wall and doors.Door requires 4 'AA' batteries (not included) and dog key requires 2 watch size batteries. Extra Collar keys are available to use with more pets.
This Staywell Electronic Pet door is battery operated ensuring that your dog has access even during a power outage. It's made of heavy duty, high gauge plastic and can be installed in a metal door without interfering with the operations of the electronics.
Infra red signals are electromagnetic rays having a wavelength lower than that of visible light and cannot therefore be seen. Your pet collar key transmits a digital coded infra red signal which is decoded when the key comes within range of your pet door permitting only pets with keys of same code to enter the house.

4 WAY Control:
1. Position 1: Keep strays out while allowing your pets free access either way.
2. Position 2: OUT ONLY - Your pet can go out but cannot come back in.

Small Pet Door - for cats and small dogs up to 15 lbs.
